A good layout need not necessarily be planned but here I will look at some neat computer aided planning programs to help plan those awkward station sidings.
Here I will look at the best ways to construct a baseboard for your layout taking size and weight into consideration.
With so many different products on the market this section will focus on how to use them instead of which products are best. However if any manufacturer of scenic materials wishes me to test their product I will, and give a fair report in a new section.
Automatic points and signals are child’s play compared with what’s possible with a few reed switches and resistors, this is my favourite part of layout building and any contributions will be made very welcome with full acknowledgement to the author .
No layout would be complete without a station or two but this is a small area in the vast expanse of model buildings available from complete fairgrounds to dockside scenes to coal mines we look at them all!

They are an immense source of knowledge and experience coupled with a strong friendly attitude to newcomers whom they welcome whatever your ability.
