Brewery

Another Metcalfe card kit I liked the look of was the brewery. Again built before the camera was “invented” documentary evidence will start with the model on site.
painting the baseboard prior to laying the wagon sidings infront of the brewery
The photo above shows readying the sidings for ballasting
Balasted coach sidings behind the brewery
The Scammel Scarab can be seen waiting a driver after being loaded. The coach sidings at the rear of the brewery are ballasted and the coach cleaning platforms fixed down the centre

Behind the brewery again
The above photo shows the ballasting nearly finished up to the points.

A few days have passed now and another bit done. I have painted the baseboard around the brewery ready to lay the wagon sidings and “grass” and ballast.
The pictures

below shows the grass being laid in stages for the benefit of the camera. But I think that large areas would benefit from a “do it in one go” policy
Spreading the glue with a paint brush ensures an even and consistent base for the grass

Don’t worry about the white glue showing through as it dries to transparent and oly the green will be left.

Just the carpark and the ballasting to do now

Burning the midnight oil.
