Kit Building

Kit building is an integral part of the overall satisfaction you get when a model is completed and in place on your layout. Whether it is a small diorama in the corner of the corn field or a full blown working locomotive, never rush , always take your time. A selection of tools for basic modelling is essential and I have listed my own “tool kit” below

  • A good selection of craft knives with spare blades
  • A small set of needle files
  • Tweezers
  • A good selection of paint brushes
  • Lint free wipes
  • Cotton Buds
  • Modelling Paints
  • Magnifying Glass (not Shown)
  • Small drills
  • Cutting Mat (not Shown)
  • Set Square (Not Shown)
  • And glue of course!

The following pictures are links to the kit models I have made in relation to “Ryton to Brighton” railway. If any reader would like to submit their own model making experiences please do so to email@thecoalingstage with model making as the subject header. Each submission will get its own page and link from this page with full acknowledgement of the author.
