No layout would be complete without carriages and wagons.There is no need to just have coaches and wagons particular to your era and chosen region and to do so would not necessarily make you a purist, it is nice in my opinion though to keep pretty much to a theme ie I don’t run a rake of Pullmans’ with an inter city 125 buffet car in the middle

 In fact I don’t have any rolling stock which cannot be placed before 1960 apart from one exception, a refrigerator van I bought as a practice kit, which never runs on the layout.
